What is spatio-temporal data?

Spatio-temporal means belonging to both space and time or to space-time. In physics, spacetime is any mathematical model that fuses the three dimensions of space and the one dimension of time into a single 4‑dimensional continuum. The term is also used when we talk about geographic information systems, or "GIS", which is used by satellites and mapping systems to find where you are in the world so you can be provided instructions for how to navigate yourself into or out of a situation.

We are adding more layers of information to your map so you can also see and understand what has happen in the past, and the present at that location. For instance, we can show you and your child are standing immediate proximity of toxic lead where your presence exposes you to permanent brain damage caused by lead poisoning. We will also be able to show you subtle ground movements that indicate fast moving water coming your direction to give you enough warning to leave safely before the water arrives at your location.

What is space time?

Space Time is a term coined by Albert Einstein which identifies concepts of time and three-dimensional space regarded as fused in a four-dimensional continuum.  Meaning, in simple terms, that the past, present, and future are all connected and wherever you are you are standing in the presence of all three. MI works to provide people the hidden variables that surround us so we can take advantage of opportunities to not repeat the past, be more aware of the present, and potentially choose a different future than what would happen otherwise.
